When a new raid comes out, the Mythic difficulty is locked to server-specific groups until it's been cleared by 100 groups on each faction. After that, the restriction is lifted and you can raid Mythic with cross-server groups. All lower difficulties (LFR, Normal, Heroic) are cross-server from day one. I think that's about it for restrictions.
For WvW, the world matters and there are two ways to play together: Join the same world; Join any of the worlds linked to the primary world. (Although this changes every two months.) Guilds are agnostic to region: all the benefits are shared; you just won't see your guildies in the GH if you're in different regions. Show activity on this post. My and a friend wanted to start playing Guild Wars 2 together. Both of us selected the same server and created our characters. Once in-game, we opened the Contacts menu with Y, sent each other a friend request, and joined a party. However, despite being friends with each other and joining the same party, neither one To add a friend you have to be on the same server but only to add them. After that you’re good. But always must be within the same data center. For example, I’m on Primal. If someone is on the Crystal data center, I can’t play with them. I can only play with people that are on any of the servers within the Primal data center. Worlds don't matter for anything but WvW, and F2Players can't do that until level 60 anyways. They can play with other players regardless. For PvP & PvE it doesnt matter what server you are on, it only makes a difference for WvW and you only have acces to it at lvl 60. short video that explains this really well. . 165 323 282 284 475 458 418 67
