how to disassemble acer laptop
June 2018. I have the Acer s5-371 and need to replace the battery. I tried following the above instructions to remove the back cover, but I cannot "pull the right side apart to release the latches." I've tried using a flat pry bar as well as my fingers, but I get nowhere. I tried the left side, as well, but no success.
Remove one screw securing the DVD drive and pull out the DVD drive. The Acer Aspire V5-471 features an HL GU61N 9.5mm SATA DVD burner. Turn over your laptop. Pry up and remove the keyboard. Pry up and remove the palm rest. Under the palm rest, you can access the hard drive, cooling fan and wireless card. Here’s the hard drive assembly.
Turn off your Toshiba laptop and unplug the AC adapter and all other cords and cables connected to it. Flip the laptop over and remove all visible screws. Carefully flip the laptop back over and use a plastic opening tool to pry open the laptop case. Lift the laptop case gently, noting where each of the cables connect to the motherboard.
